Heartbeat

Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026-09-10

By using Heartbeat (“the app”), you agree to these terms. Please read them before using the service.

What Heartbeat is

Heartbeat lets you share your real-time location with people you add to a private “circle,” and see their location in return. Sharing is opt-in: you choose who is in your circles and whether tracking is on.

Using the service

  • You are responsible for the location you choose to share and who you invite to your circles. Only share location you are comfortable sharing.
  • Invite codes grant access to your circle. Share them only with people you trust.
  • You are responsible for any data transfer or device costs from using the app.

Your data

The app is self-hosted software run by an operator you know. What it collects, how it is used, and how you can delete it are described in the Privacy Policy.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use Heartbeat to harass, stalk, or share the location of any person without their consent, or in any way that violates applicable law.

Availability

The service is provided “as is” without warranties. The operator does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, and is not liable for loss of data or damages arising from use of the app.

Suspension

The operator may restrict or remove access for misuse of the service or violation of these terms.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated terms. The date at the top shows when they were last changed.
